My passion is helping those that have experienced pain in their lives to understand the influence those experiences have on their life journey and to break free of unhealthy coping patterns that are keeping them feeling heavy, stuck, and burnt out. I take an eclectic approach to therapy and adjust what therapeutic modalities I use to best fit the needs and goals of my clients. My approach is most aligned with Humanistic theories with the integration of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for skill building. Regardless of what therapeutic model we work from, I steadily maintain a trauma-informed approach to our work together. This means that I diligently strive to offer an environment of safety and support where my clients have autonomy over the direction and pace at which we work. Through our collaboration, you will be better able to compassionately explore behaviors you are struggling with now, and understand how these behaviors actually helped you on your journey. Together we will help you find new, healthier and more productive ways to care for yourself and your needs. I am a dual-diagnosis therapist and licensed clinical social worker with 10 years in the counseling field with a focus on trauma and substance abuse. I received my bachelor of social work and master certificate in addiction counseling at Eastern Washington University and my masters in social work from Boise State University. I have lived in Washington state since 2009 and enjoy hiking, camping, and kayaking in my free time. ~Corrie Oliver, LICSW, SUDP
